MEET DAVE EVANS

DAVE DOES'T JUST TALK ABOUT HARD WORK.
HE HAS SPENT HIS LIFE DOING IT.

David Evans III, also known as Dave, is a lifelong resident of St. Clair County who believes deeply in service, hard work, and giving back to the community that raised him.

He lives on his family’s historic farm, originally settled in 1820 by Revolutionary War veteran Jacob Green. For generations, Dave’s family farmed the property  and operated a ferry that connected neighbors and served families along the Coosa River. His father and grandfather were the last to run that ferry, and their selfless dedication to helping others shaped how Dave learned the meaning of responsibility, community, and leadership.

Dave graduated from Ashville High School in 1979 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 1984. He went on to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian, earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.

After graduation, Dave began serving farmers and rural communities as a large-animal veterinarian in several states. In 1991, he returned home to St. Clair County and founded his own large-animal veterinary practice, growing it into a trusted and successful small business that has served the county for more than 30 years.

As both a veterinarian and business owner, Dave has managed employees, payroll, operating costs, and long-term planning, while building a practice rooted in relationships, reliability, and quality service for local families and producers.

In addition to his veterinary practice, Dave is the owner and operator of Greensport RV Park and Greensport Marina. Since opening the RV Park in 2019, Dave and his family have invested in the property and expanded its role as a community gathering place, hosting events that bring people together and raise support for agriculture-related programs. His work as a multi-business owner reflects a proven ability to grow, manage, and sustain local businesses while reinvesting in the community. In recognition of his leadership and community involvement, Dave was honored in December 2025 with the State Alfa Senior Leader Award for St. Clair County Community Engagement and Service.

Above all, Dave is a devoted husband, father, and man of faith. He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 12 years, and together they are raising their sons, Dave IV (“Quade”) and Josiah Jacob. He is also the proud father of Courtney Evans, a veterinarian who followed in his footsteps. Faith and family are at the center of Dave’s life, and he attends The Church at Bradford Road in Springville.

Dave’s life reflects a simple belief: strong communities are built by people who show up, work hard, take care of their neighbors, and give back without expecting recognition. For generations, his family has done just that in St. Clair County – and Dave continues that legacy every day.
